In September 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, Daniel was given by the Lord a crisis response vision to build a network of Greater Austin churches, who would set aside theological differences and mobilize, organize, and train together to meet the emotional, spiritual, and physical needs of those impacted by crisis. Daniel served as Founder and Executive Director of the Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) for 14 years. In that time ADRN assisted nearly four hundred thousand disaster survivors, trained over 22,000 volunteers, and raised more than $22 million to help families get back on their feet and into safe and clean homes. Expanding on this crisis response church network vision, today Daniel is Founder and CEO of United in Crisis, taking it beyond the city walls of Greater Austin to the nations.
